Joanne Synge - Principal (Year 4-8 Teacher)
I have been teaching at Horahora since 1999 and have lived in the district since 1982.
I am married to Trevor and have 3 grown up children and 2 grandchildren (and another on the way). My son started at Horahora School in 1988 and I joined the Board of Trustees in 1989 and am still on it! My two daughters also completed their primary education here at Horahora School.
I taught in the Year 3 – 5 class from 1999 until 2014.I then taught in the Year 0 – 4 class from 2014 to 2015.In 2015 I was appointed Principal and then in 2016 I moved to the Year 4 – 8 class where I now teach 2.5 days each week.The other 2.5 days are spent doing my Principal administration duties in the office (or offsite at courses/meetings).
I am very passionate about Horahora School and the local community, it's been part of my life for such a long time.The students here are very important to me and their education is paramount.
Angela Hammond - Teacher
I am Mrs Angela Hammond.I have been teaching in large schools in Hamilton for the past 10 years and am looking forward to returning to my rural roots.I have a fiancée, Aaron, and a beautiful 7-month old son, Isaac, who keeps me busy outside of school.
I have enjoyed being part of the football community at varying levels throughout my life, and continue to play socially now.
I am passionate about writing, spelling and how these combine to enable students to find their own individual voice. I am really looking forward to the new challenge Horahora will bring!

My foster son, Corban was at Horahora for 3 years and is now at Matamata College.
I am a passionate animal lover and have a dog, cats, a goat and chickens.
