We believe in the importance of aquatic education for all students. Our indoor pool provides a safe and enjoyable environment for students to develop essential swimming and water safety skills.
Our comprehensive swimming programme focuses on the holistic development of each child, encompassing physical skills, critical thinking, and an understanding of aquatic environments. We follow nationally recognised programmes including Kiwi Swim Safe, Kia Maanu Kia Ora Water Safety, and Waterskills for Life, ensuring students learn to swim confidently and safely. Building on this, we prepare middle and senior students for the Interschool Swimming competition, which is held late in Term One.
Our programmes emphasise a balanced approach, seamlessly integrating pool time with classroom learning. This integrated approach fosters a deeper understanding of water safety and encourages reflective learning.
Terms one and four will see our students actively engaged in our swimming programme, building essential skills and fostering a lifelong love of the water. During these terms, students will have approximately 30 minutes of swimming time each day. We ask for your partnership in supporting them to ensure they have togs and a towel in their bag and are ready to swim each day.
