Years 7 & 8

Our commitment to the Year 7 and 8 students at Hora Hora School is unwavering. We provide a challenging and supportive environment where every Year 7 & 8 student can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Key Advantages:

Smaller Class Sizes: Our smaller class sizes allow for personalised attention and individualised learning experiences.

Experienced Leadership: Our Principal brings eight years of specialised experience in teaching Emerging Adolescents, providing valuable insights and guidance.

Opportunities for this group of learners may vary each year depending on student interests and available resources. However, we will continue to develop and implement specialised programmes designed to challenge and extend our ākonga.

Opportunities include:

  • Waikato Science Fair
  • Materials Tech
  • Food Tech
  • Digital Tech
  • Electronics
  • Waimaths
  • Kids Lit Quiz
  • Waikato Spelling Bee

In Years 7 and 8, we also call on our Senior children to adopt leadership roles, and additional responsibilities.

These include the opportunity to:

  • be a House Leader
  • run school assemblies
  • organise and leading daily fitness
  • plan and lead whole school activities – discos, fundraisers, etc.
  • attend Rural Schools’ Leadership days
  • train to be a School Bus Monitor
  • Be active role models within the classroom and in all school-based activities.
